Head Coach Sabina
Sabina grew up in Durango, CO and has loved mountain biking for a very long time. She started racing mountain bikes when she was in high school, and joined a Pro-level team when she was 18 years old. She attended Fort Lewis College and raced all disciplines of cycling (short track, xcountry, downhill, 4X, dual slalom, cyclocross, road). She coached for Durango DEVO for many years. Now she rides just for fun on the awesome trails around Montezuma County.
Head Coach Mike
Najib has been riding the trails of Southwest Colorado since the early 90's. He enjoys after work laps at Phils's World as well as long day rides up in the high country. When the snow starts to fly he can be found skiing up in Telluride and lets his bike take a rest. He is excited to share his passion for mountain biking and the outdoors with the kids of High Desert Devo.
Chase is an invasive species from the flat land of West Texas (Lubbock, Texas to be exact), but has been calling Colorado home for the past 6 years. Chase started mountain biking in college and raced mountain bikes for Texas Tech university for a few years racing and traveling from West Texas to Oregon! Now a days when he's not teaching at Cortez Middle School or ski patrolling at Hesperus he really enjoys adventuring with some loaded bags on his bikes across the San Juans!
Arlina started cycling 5 years ago. She enjoys century rides, solid mountain bike sessions, and casual rolls around the county roads. She works at the local bike shop, helping customers, serving coffee and putting out sweet designs. Arlina is trying to find more ways to get women and young gals on bikes, in addition to helping build new trails. She is always down for a ride!
Eric moved to Southwest Colorado from Denver 7 years ago to teach in Shiprock, NM. Initially planning on a short-term move is now 7 years with no intent to leave! Eric is a mountain biker at heart and has been riding for a bit over 10 years. He's worked at bike shops in the front range and four corners area, and now works with coordinating Special Education services for schools in the Shiprock, NM area. He enjoys bikepack adventures around our diverse area, and his favorite trails are W. Salt Creek and Captain Ahab.
Eric has been riding in SW Colorado for over 10 years. He is a single speed rider at heart and has raced for the Kokopelli single speed race team at 12 hours of Mesa Verde. He loves to travel with his son to different downhill parks around Colorado in the summer. In order to extend his riding season, Eric is one of the Boggy Draw winter trail groomers. Eric is stoked about helping kids take their riding to the next level or just getting out and riding to have fun.
